The via ferrata Catinaccio d’Antermoia is a great crossing of the Kesselkogel: a 3000m peak and at the same time the highest peak in the Rosengarten group.
It’s a great climbing and very popular and regulary done from the west to the east.
By car with the mountain guide you arrives from Pera di Fassa (Fassa valley) to the rifugio Gardeccia. From rifugio Gardeccia take path 546 to the rifugio passo principe at 2.600 m. (hiking: 2 1/2 hours)
The beginning of the climb is a view meters west above the pass.
Climbing time:
via ferrata on the west face to the top: 2 – 2 1/2 hours
from top descent via ferrata face east 1 – 1 1/2 hour
Descent time to the rifugio Gardeccia : 1 hour
You need to be in good physical condition as it will be a long day: Total time: 6 – 7 hours
It is better to plan an overnight stay in the hut and split the tour into two days.
