The new via ferrata Hoachwool is located in the surroundings of Merano. For this particular wall climbers must be experienced, fit and in good physical condition. Is not for the first experience to climbing.
This via ferrata near Naturno in the Merano area was built in 2014. It has some difficult passages class D.
From the via ferrata you have a nice view to the Juval Castle the summer residence of the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner.
The starting point is the parking lot of the Unterstell cable car in Naturno.
The Hochwool via ferrata is divided into 2 sections.
The first section has a suspension bridge. It’s quite airy and exposed!
The second section forms the heart of the long via ferrata and is then continuously strong!
