The via ferrata Rio Secco near Bolzano is a very particular fixe rope climbing route. It passes through a canyon called Rio Secco.

This impressive via ferrata is not very long, but does are a few short, steep sections that require some arms strength, but the mountain guide helps with his rope.

During the ascent you have always a very nice view of the Adige valley with her beautiful landscape and her apple trees.

The starting point is the small town of Cadino, about 5 km south of Salurn and 37 km from Bolzano

The ferrata is ideal for the spring and autumn. There are about 450 meters in altitude ascent. Total walking time: approx. 4 hours, difficulty: medium / C.
