HIKING in the Lagorai – Fiemme valley – Trentino

Nice hiking round trip in the Fiemme valley in the Lagorai – Trentino mountains to the peak Colrotondo at 2530m with the guide
Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Dolomites: Catinaccio, Latemar, Sella, Pale di San Martino and Adamello Brenta. Meters ascent: 910 Hm.

Starting point is Predazzo in the Fiemme vally – Trentino.  You can park the car on the malga Valmaggiore at 1620 m.

Here starts our tour: on route No. 339 it goes slightly uphill to the Moregna lake and the Moregna Alp at 2058 m, about 1 hour.

Now it goes up still following the 339, you past a crossing with route 349b, until the next crossing with the indication Forcella di Moregna. You take this path No. 349 and passing on a beautiful, deep blue lake, called Lake Brutto.
After about 45 min you arrived the Forcella di Moregna. (Walking from the parking to the col  approximately 2.15 h).

Now you can get without special difficulties along a nice path in about 20 min. to the top of Coltorondo 2530 m.
From the summit you can enjoy a wonderful view to the Dolomites, Brenta, Adamello, Sellagroup, Pale di San Martino.

Back to the Forcella Moregna you have two choices of descent:

1) Shortly after the col, turn left and get on route No. 349b and return to the Moregna lake. Now go down to the starting point malga Valmaggiore, about 1.15 hour.

2) Follow the pathon No. 349 on the right to the saddle  and keep always the same level until after about 1h15 you arrived the bivouac Paolo and Nicola. Here you descend on the road No. 335  to Malga Valmaggiore, about 1 hour.

Total hiking time: 3.50 hours – 4.50 hours
